FishWhere Demo
The Demo is a limited edition that will allow you to experiment with the full range of program functions. It contains a sample database of locations and fish catches in the Tampa area. Because it is a Demo, it will not allow you to enter any of your own locations or catches.
To Download and install the Demo:
- Click the DOWNLOAD below, and SAVE the FWDemo.ZIP file (9.6 MB in size) to your PC's Desktop.
- After the download, double-click the FWDemo.ZIP file on your Desktop. The WinZip menu will open.
- There are three files in the Zip. Double-click the SETUP.EXE file. You'll get a message about "extracting to a temporary folder" - click OK.
- A standard Windows procedure will install the software into a default folder. If you get a message about some files being newer/older than those on your system, simply use the files in your system rather than replace them.
After installation, the FishWhere Demo will be avaliable from your START / PROGRAMS listing. You can Delete the FWDemo.ZIP file on your Desktop. A file called FishWhere System Overview.DOC will also be created in the folder where FishWhere is installed (C:\Program Files\FishWhere2). This is a MicroSoft Word file, and contains basic instructions for using FishWhere and navigating through the maps (see separate Download below).

FishWhere Overview Manual
This is a Microsoft Word Document that details all the primary functions in FishWhere. It will walk you through the basic map scaling functions such as zooming, scrolling, panning, etc. It will explain how the "Criteria" option on the right side of the menu control how your locations and fish catches are displayed. It will also explain the map layering system on the left side of the main menu, and how you can control the properties of each layer, such as color, line style, transparency, etc. This document should have been included with your FW CD, and a hard copy should heve been provided when you purchased FW. Older purchases may not have received this, and we recommend that you review it.
FishWhere Program Update (May 13, 2008)
An update is available that has a new "Find Location" and "Edit Selected". The FIND button allows you to enter a partial text phrase, and the program will search the location database and highlight it in the listing. You can then HIGHLIGHT it on the map, or click the new EDIT button to make and changes to the location. This will allow you to locate specific locations in larger databases much more quickly.
To install this latest update;
Copy the FW2.EXE file from your C:\Program Files\FishWhere2 folder to another temporary folder. This is your current FishWhere program file, and we are copying it to a safe place just in case the update gets corrupted in the Download process.
Click here to DOWNLOAD the FW2.ZIP file (724 kb) and it to your PC's Desktop.- After the download, double-click the FW2.ZIP file on your Desktop. The WinZip menu will open.
- Highlight the FW2.EXE file in the ZIP, and then click EXTRACT, and you'll be asked to navigate to the folder where you want to save the FW2.EXE file.
- Select the C:\Program Files\FishWhere2 folder and extract it. You should get a message asking if it is OK to over-write the older FW2.EXE file already there - say "Yes".
- You can now start FW2, and the Revision Date at the top should be 5/9/2008.
That's it - you're ready to go. You'll see the new FIND and EDIT buttons as above.
